I was asked
By someone who thinks I should know
(For WHATEVER earthly reason)
"What is Love?"
I thought and thought and thought
I didn't want to give a "wrong" answer
But...I didn't know what to say....
I didn't know what to say...
and then......
I thought of you..
of the love I feel for you
But....How could I explain
everything I feel for you?
The way YOU make ME feel?
The things I want to do for you
Whether or not you are with me
The things you do for me..
That show me that we are meant to be "one"
The warmth and joy I feel
When we are together
The emptiness I feel
When we are apart
I couldn't tell him of that...
I don't have the words....
and then I thought of the poet Robert Frost
He said.... "Love is"...
The only answer that needs to be given
Love ... Is!!
